Raspbian is already good enough for many users but we had more novice users in mind when we first designed Prota. Prota is headless Users access Prota using any standard web browser on any device. I don't want pre-made pre-packaged applications, I want to have to get the breadboard wired like a rat's nest, to get the soldering iron hot and the coding pencil sharpened. I want the same for my 15yr old son and all of his mates in school. An application development kit might swing it, but coding raw python, java, C or ruby has to be a better option if we want the next generation (the kids from the 21st Century) to be more than just dumb kids with a smart cell phone. Yep, looks like a coroprate research institute of some sort is pushing this, but its hard to tell because most ot their website is in a languiage I can't read!
