I think it's safe to say the majority, if not all of them, are licks over one chord, with emphasis on dom7 chords - some licks are over G7, some are over C#7, etc. Most of the variety is in the rhythm rather than the harmony.

The bebop scales add a chromatic passing tone to the basic scales so that strong chord tones occur on the strong beats. The strong chord tones are root, 3 rd, 5 th and 7 th on the dominant chord and root, 3 rd, 5 th and 6 th (not 7 th) on tonic major and minor chords. The two bonus licks were written for - gasp! - TWO chords. There are lots of closeups on Mike's fretboard, so I'd trust that more than the tab. He tells you what position he prefers to play the lick at, and whether he likes to stay there. Most of the licks I checked out are easy enough to just learn by ear anyway. I have a feeling the intended audience for this course is guitarists without much of a bebop/jazz vocabulary - especially rock and blues guitarists - who want to add some sax licks to their toolbox and be able to use them right away in rock and blues jams.

I think it's well done for that purpose.
